As an AI-powered Khmer writing assistant, we process the text and documents you submit exclusively to provide spell checking, transliteration, and text extraction services. We do not sell your personal text or train broad public models on your private documents without your consent.

  • Text Submissions: When you use our APIs (/api/spell-check/, /transliterate/, etc.), we process the text you input to return corrections, grammar checks, or transliterations.
  • Document Uploads: When you upload files (.txt, .doc, .docx, .pdf) for text extraction (/api/extract-file-text/), we process these documents to extract the underlying text. PDF extraction may utilize Google Cloud Vision OCR.
  • Usage Data: We use Google Analytics to collect standard usage metrics (e.g., page views, interaction with core features) to understand how KeyEZ is used and how we can improve it.

2. How We Use Information

Your data is primarily used to operate our tools securely and efficiently:

  • To execute the spelling, grammar, transliteration, and extraction operations you request.
  • To securely display results back to you on our client interfaces and extensions.
  • To analyze bug reports or API failures to ensure the stability of the platform.

We rely on trusted third-party providers for certain complex functionalities:

  • Google Cloud Vision OCR: For PDF extraction and image-based documents, we may route files through Google Cloud capabilities to retrieve textual data.
  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics (via gtag.js) for site performance tracking.
  • Hosting & Deployments: Our infrastructure may be hosted on scalable cloud providers that manage web traffic securely.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use local storage on your browser strictly for preserving your user interface preferences without tracking identity. We currently store:

  • keyez-theme — Retains whether you selected 'dark' or 'light' mode across visits.
  • keyez-lang — Retains whether you prefer English ('en') or Khmer ('km') text across visits.

5. Data Retention and Security

Uploaded documents and text payloads submitted directly to our API endpoints are evaluated concurrently and generally not retained beyond the period necessary to deliver your requested service response, except temporarily in logs for automated debugging purposes. We prioritize industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS).
